The full day seminar attended by perhaps 80 people who joined with us inall of their heart.....sohbet, ain-i-jem, two hours of teaching by teamsof semazens lunch seved by the Rifai Order and by the end of the day peoplewere content, filled and satisfied.
Weather here has been tropical with warm days and balmy nights and the moonis waxing towards full, just as in your own places.
Just returned from the evening offering held on the campus of the Universityof N.C. attended by some 200 people in the Great Hall of the Student Union.Shahabuddin, Zuleika, Imam Bilal, all joined int with offerings. Wonderfulmusic from Steve Huzur and the drummers wtih Steve reciting Rumi. A wholegroup of young people (13 year olds) at this event from the Chapel Hill AcademySchool where they have been studying the works of Rumi.
Two more Mevlevi s show up...Haqiqa and Melike....instead of diminishingwith time we grow. The Silk Road Cafe continues to be a regular stoppingplace on the caravan.....tonight we set each table with pints of Ben andJerrys while the sazz and talk blended with the laughter.
Now we sit with the moon, trees and an incredible host of singing small thingswhile the talk carries on into the mellow part of the night.
Monday, the Rifai Order is meeting to debrief the event and plan for theSecond Annual.
