We came whirling out of nothingness, scattering stars like dust.

The Wheel of Heaven circles God like a mill. Turning and turning, it sunders all attachments.
Mevlana Jelaluddin Rumi

Born in Konya, Turkey, home and resting place of Rumi, Jelaleddin Loras was trained as a young boy into the ways and practices of Mevlana. As Sheikh of the Whirling Dervishes of Konya and founder of the Mevlevi Order of America, he has been teaching in the west since 1978, creating a bridge of peace and understanding. In addition, he directs a school in Konya teaching Mevlevi arts, especially music and turning. Through his dedication and sincere friendship, he continues to inspire hundreds of students to develop a heartfelt connection with the path of Mevlana, known to many as Rumi.

Mevlevi teachers Postneshins Karim and Noor Kerima Payton from Hawaii, and also musicians from Europe and America will be joining Jelaleddin for the retreat.
