The MOA School of Turkish Music -
Inaugural Session June 11-15, 2010 in Portland


The first session of the MOA School of Turkish Music will be offered in Portland, June 11-15, 2010. (MOA, the Mevlevi Order of America.)

Timucin Cevikoglu, master Turkish musician, will offer instruction in Voice, Ney, Percussion, and an Ensemble class. Turkish music theory (Makam & Usul) will be part of the instruction. More details on the Registration Form.

We'll start five days of group instruction in SE Portland on Friday, June 11, running about 11am-6pm, focusing on Turkish Sufi devotional music. Additionally, there will be a concert by Timucin and U.S. musicians on Saturday night the 12th, and a closing gathering for music, food, and community on Tuesday night June 15.

Costs for Group Classes:
Tuition for the full course: $200
Single Classes (60-90 minutes): $30 each
Five days of a single Class (such as Voice, Ney or Ensemble): $100
